Moorings and Coquina Sands Single Family Homes

Right in the center of Naples are two charming neighborhoods known as The Moorings and Coquina Sands. They are Located between US 41 and the Gulf of Mexico, with canals and Gulf access waterways in between and bounded on the north by Park Shore, and on the south by The Naples Beach Hotel Golf Course. The Moorings Homeowners' Association owns a private beach access along Gulf Shore Blvd. for all Moorings residents to use and enjoy picnics and shady park benches as well as a full time attendant to assist with parking and maintenance.

Residents of Coquina Sands take advantage of the beautiful City of Naples owned Lowdermilk Park, which is a wonderful family beach park with a volleyball court, gazebo, restrooms, food concession and showers.

The Moorings features streets mostly named for nautical terms such as Bow Line Drive, Rudder Road and Leeward Lane, which reflects one of the primary attractions of this area. Most of the homes in Coquina Sands are named after trees and plants or common seashells of Southwest Florida such as Ixora Drive, Banyan Blvd, and Coral Drive. Modest homes abound with most built in the late sixties and seventies, though many have undergone major reconstruction or been razed to make way for a larger, new home. Many of the waterfront properties have direct access to the Gulf of Mexico without bridges, so many of the residents favor sailboats.

Smaller, more intimate condominiums line the Gulf of Mexico and the bay area of Hurricane Harbor in the Moorings and Coquina Sands neighborhoods, and the lifestyles are as diverse as its residents. Moorings and Coquina Sands are very convenient to a plethora of stores and restaurants. Naples Shopping Center and Moorings Plaza have long been local favorites, within walking distance of so many residents, it features a Publix, Marshalls, Office Depot, restaurants, a bank and beauty/barber shops. Across the street is the Coastland Center Mall, and Gateway Plaza, with everything from large chain restaurants to small mom and pop establishments, organic grocery to bookstore, it's all right here.
